For the first time the magazine has launched a special competition dedicated to the world of Grappa, the Falstaff Grappa Trophy 2019, which presented a selection of the best Italian Grappas, among which two Poli aged Grappas stand out: Due Barili (with 94 points) and Cleopatra Moscato Oro (93 points).

Tasting notes by Simon Staffler and Othmar Kiem.

Poli Due Barili

Light amber colour. Round and decisive taste, reminding of the Sacher cake, chocolate and lots of apricot marmalade. On the palate it is dense and soft, even here we find the apricot jam, a delicate, balanced and rich sweetness, lasting long on the palate.

Cleopatra Moscato Oro

Light straw yellow with a light golden touch. Fragrant bouquet of tabled-white grape, nutmeg, banana, very flowery, reminding of white rose and the freshness of a strawberry. Slightly balmy in the mouth with a vegetable touch, dense , it spreads evenly, long aftertaste, sweetish.
