Poli night at Kaefer in Munich, Germany

25 years have gone by since Jacopo Poli first carried a bottle of his namesake Grappa through the doors of Feinkost Kaefer, the undisputed icon of gourmet food and beverage in the heart of Munich at 73 Prinzregentenstraße.

It was in this fascinating setting that Mr. Poli has returned to host a Grappa tasting featuring 6 of his signature distillates, as part of an evening devoted to Italian products and landscapes. After a brief but informative presentation of his family , the distillery and their inextricably joint history, Mr. Poli dived into the peculiarities that make his Grappa a “spirit” that never ceases to amaze.

A notably tasty moment of the evening featured wedges of the buttery shortbread “Fregolotta” soaked in Poli Barrique: a distinctly Veneto gesture that has been honored for generations, declined in Poli's unmistakable fashion.

Our deepest thanks go to Mrs. Renate Lausterer and the Kaefer Staff for their extraordinarily warm welcome, and for the impeccable organization of a splendid evening. Special thanks also go to Tanja and Max, our people on the ground in Germany, who have been a key factor in bringing together this highly engaging event.
